“I only wanted my mum back home” – Lady breaks down after investigations allegedly link mother to own kidnap case
A lady who previously solicited funds from Nigerians after her mother’s captors allegedly demanded ₦50 million ransom has reacted after new developments emerged in the case.
Her reaction comes after her mother was released and preliminary investigations reportedly suggested that the kidnapping may have been staged, with alleged involvement from her mother and other individuals whose identities have not yet been disclosed.
Speaking on the development, she said:
“My mum has been released and there’s an ongoing investigation. It has been investigated that there’s an involvement of my mum in this kidnapping case. I only did what any child would do to save their mum or ensure the safe return of their mum.”
The emotional lady said the revelation has left her family devastated, adding that she never had any knowledge of what investigators are now alleging.
She further expressed concern about the impact the situation could have on her father, who she said is battling health challenges.
“Words can’t express how the family is in shock. I am in shock. My whole family has been shattered. My dad has some health issues, and I don’t even know how he’s going to go through this. I have no hand in this. I never knew. I only wanted my mum back home,” she added.
The lady also apologised to Nigerians who supported her during the fundraising campaign, insisting that she acted out of concern for her mother’s safety.
The development has sparked reactions online, with many expressing sympathy for the daughter while awaiting the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
