“I haven’t stopped speaking about the Government, Injustice or Oppression” – Mr Macaroni

Nigerian skitmaker and activist Mr Macaroni has clarified that he did not stop speaking publicly about the government, injustice and oppression because of threats.

In a statement, the entertainer said threats had been a regular occurrence since 2020, but maintained that his decision to step back from political commentary was largely because he had become tired of repeating the same concerns without seeing the level of action he wanted.

“I haven’t stopped speaking about the Government, Injustice or Oppression because of threats. Threats have been a normal thing since 2020. What I said and still stand on is that I am TIRED of saying the same thing over and over again.”

Mr Macaroni argued that Nigerians have continued to tolerate what he described as unacceptable levels of corruption, oppression and inhumane treatment.

“We are too relaxed for a country suffering so much. There is no reason whatsoever on earth for Nigerians to continue to accept the unconscionable level of corruption, oppression and inhumane treatment that has been inflicted on us all these years.”

He said he would continue to watch from the sidelines until Nigerians were ready to take action.

“And all I’m saying is until we are all ready to take action, I will be cheering on from the sidelines.”

The skitmaker also disclosed that he had gone through difficult personal experiences in recent years and was now recovering and beginning to find peace and happiness.

“I have gone through so so much personally these last couple of years and I’m finally recovering and thankfully beginning to find some peace and happiness which I intend to enjoy as fully as I can without anyone’s permission.”

Mr Macaroni further addressed interviews of him that have recently resurfaced online, saying many of them were conducted two or three years ago. He urged people to look beyond headlines, which he said could be misleading, and maintained that he stood by statements he had previously made.

He also joked that his recent weight loss could help people distinguish newer interviews from older ones, while recalling that he had previously faced body-shaming from critics during political arguments.

The entertainer concluded by saying he would continue to update his followers on what he described as his “journey of artistic redefinition” and other projects.
