“I have never been to school before but… – Ex-Muslim lady shares spiritual encounter
A Nigerian lady identified as Farida Saleh from Kano State has captured attention online after sharing her unusual spiritual experience and how it reportedly changed her life.
Farida, who described herself as a Muslim convert, narrated how the incident began in December 2017 when she claimed a mysterious figure appeared to her inside her room.
Mysterious Encounter in Her Room
According to her, the experience left her frightened as she did not understand what was happening.
She said: “My name is Farida Saleh from Kano State. I’m a Muslim convert. It all started like this in December. I saw a man appears to me in my room. His eyes is like a sun. When he appears to me, I was very afraid.”
Farida explained that she began shouting and reciting prayers in an attempt to make the figure disappear.
“I started shouting, a’uzubillah minas shaitan irajim bismillahirrahmanirrahim. I was just rending incantation on him, but he did not disappear. I did all I could, he did not disappear.”
Family Members Could Not See Him
She said people later gathered after hearing her screams, but no one else could see what she claimed to be seeing.
“People now started coming. What happened? I now told them, this is a ghost that I’m seeing, but no one is seeing him. I’m the only person that I’m seeing him. I became afraid.”
According to Farida, those around her began to suspect something was wrong.
“I was saying, you are not seeing him. They say, no, it’s like you are mad.”
Taken to Hospital for Checkup
Farida revealed that she was eventually taken to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation.
“They took me to the hospital, to psychiatry hospital to check. Am I actually okay? The doctor say, I’m okay. That they should just go and do gargajia for me, like native one for me at home.”
She said the figure later appeared again after she returned home.
Receiving Bible Verses
Farida claimed that during another encounter, she was given specific Bible verses.
“When I came back home, he appears to me. He now gave me a verses, John 3:16, Proverbs 18:10, Isaiah 42:1-5. Then he gave me Jeremiah 51:20-23.”
She added that despite having no formal education, she was told she would preach.
Learning to Speak English
Farida said she initially doubted her ability to communicate.
“I’ve never been to school before, but when he appears to me, when he said, I will go into the world and preach the gospel, I said, I don’t know how to speak. How will I talk with people?”
According to her, she later began speaking English after the figure touched her mouth.
“When he touched my mouth, I started speaking the English I’m speaking now.”
She explained that she only began attending adult education classes later in life.
“I’ve never been to class one. It was in the camp that I started going to adult education. Now that I used to learn ABCD, I’ve never been to even class one and he has always been there for me.”
Expressing Gratitude
Farida expressed appreciation for what she described as the peace and joy she now feels.
“I don’t have anything to say to Jesus that to say, thank you. Because when he appears to me, there’s this peace that I have. There’s this joy that I have that I’ve never seen it in Islam. I actually want to appreciate God for that,” she added.
