“I had been deceived” – Entrepreneur shares heartbreaking encounter after spending ₦45M to purchase Mercedes-Benz

An entrepreneur has shared her heartbreaking experience after spending ₦45 million to purchase a Mercedes-Benz A220.

The entrepreneur identified as @midrizzy1 on X (formerly Twitter), shared that she kept the Mercedes-Benz purchase a secret from her family and friends, planning to surprise them with the luxury vehicle.

In her viral tweet, @midrizzy1 shared that she randomly contacted someone she knew, who sent photos of available vehicles.

After purchasing the Mercedes-Benz, she discovered issues a month later, the vehicle overheating.

However, further checks revealed serious engine problems.

According to her account, she spent ₦10 million on repairs, while a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) scan revealed it was from Canada with pre-import issues.

However, she sold it for ₦5 million and purchased a Mercedes-Benz A220 from another dealer.

“After the repairs, I went back to the same buyers to let them know the car was now in good condition. That’s when they scanned the VIN and discovered it was a Canada car likely flood-damaged before import. At that point, it became clear that almost nobody would want to touch it.That was when I realized I had been deceived from the very beginning. Eventually, I sold the car for 5 million in Lagos”, The tweet reads in part.
