I gave my boyfriend my phone, he blocked me and gave it to another girl — Lady

A Nigerian lady has sparked intense reactions online after sharing a painful story about a relationship she had at 19, exposing deception, manipulation, and emotional abuse.

The post, shared on X (formerly Twitter), quickly gained attention as many users related to her experience of trusting the wrong person at a young age.

A phone given in love, taken in deceit

According to the lady, the trouble started when her then boyfriend claimed his phone was damaged.

Out of love, she gave him her own phone, leaving herself without one. Whenever she needed to make calls, she borrowed her friend’s phone and inserted her SIM card.

She also lied that her phone had been stolen to avoid questions. Unknown to her, the young man had blocked her number.

She said she would call him repeatedly, cry endlessly, and blame herself for not reaching him.

“He was the only one who could call me at that time because he had already blocked my line,” she wrote.

Living a lie she did not know

The lady later discovered she was never the only woman in the relationship. She revealed that the man had a girlfriend and even told the girl she was forcing herself on him.

Things became worse when she saw her phone in another woman’s hand during a class. Shockingly, the girl was her course mate.

She later found out that the man gave her phone to his girlfriend after the girl’s phone was stolen. He then bought a new phone for himself.

Lies, apologies, and misplaced trust

When she confronted him, he denied everything. He claimed the girl was his cousin and needed the phone for business. “I believed him,” she admitted.

She even apologised for getting angry and allowed the girl to continue using her phone.

The lady said this was only one of many painful experiences she endured. Despite everything, she remained in the relationship for over two years.
