“I feel sad” – Woman questions emotions after ex-husband agrees to support her despite split

A woman has opened up about her emotional struggle after leaving her marriage, revealing that she expected a different reaction from her husband following their separation.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she explained that unlike what she imagined, her husband did not chase her or beg her to return after she left the house with her children, something that has left her feeling confused.
In her words she said:
“If you have a husband that chases you, when you leave the house with your things, he calls, he tries, he fights to get you back, you are lucky. You don’t know what God has done for you. Me, I don’t have value. They no dey chase me.
They no dey call me to come back. They no dey worry. They no dey disturb. I left my marriage. My supposed ex-husband has not called me even once since the day I left the house.”
According to her, her ex-husband eventually agreed to pay house rent for her and the children yearly, after initially insisting that they return to his house.
She added that he has now transferred the funds she requested, but the outcome has left her feeling unexpectedly sad.
“But why do I feel sad that he gave me the fund that I was asking for? Why do I feel sad that he has agreed to pay the rent for us? Why do I feel sad that he sent the money? Why?” she added.
Her story has sparked reflection on emotional attachment after separation, as many note that closure does not always bring the peace people expect.

What many people don’t understand is this… marriage is not just about children and bills.
You can have money. You can have kids. Yet still feel empty.
Because what really holds a marriage is companionship. Someone to talk to. Someone who checks on you. Someone who is there.… pic.twitter.com/WIfEjAJv0e
