“I don’t want to stay married to Tony Obi anymore” — Alleged wife of Mikel Obi’s brother cries out
A woman identified as Diamond Princess Mwenke Andrew Obi has publicly accused her husband, Tony Obi, brother to Mikel Obi and members of his family of prolonged abuse, declaring her intention to end their marriage after nearly two decades.
In an emotional video circulating on social media, the woman claimed she had been seeking a divorce, alleging that her 18-year marriage was marked by hardship, humiliation, and mistreatment.
Allegations of Abuse and Family Conflict
Speaking directly in the video, she said, “I’ve been seeking a divorce. I don’t want to stay married to Tony Obi anymore — I’ve been through hell for the past 18 years.”
She added, “I don’t want to answer that name anymore,” expressing her emotional detachment from the marriage and family.
Describing her experience further, she stated, “He’s an evil person. I’ve been through hell for the past 18 years,” while alleging that the entire Obi family had treated her unfairly.
The woman also mentioned Nigerian footballer John Michael Obi, claiming that members of the family, including him, contributed to her distress.
Incident at Family Gathering
Recounting a recent encounter, she said, “Myself and my kids, we went for condolence… only for them to push me and my children and embarrass us in a very despicable manner.”
She added, “I have done nothing wrong to this entire family. The level of hatred they have for me is incomparable.”
Call for Justice
Calling for public accountability, she said, “I want the entire Michael Obi family to come out and tell the world exactly what I did to deserve the insults, the battering, the domestic violence.”
She continued, “The embarrassment is too much. I can’t take this anymore. I want my name cleared.”
Expressing frustration and regret, she stated, “No matter how much you love a man, if his family doesn’t love you, stay away from that relationship… I have seen hell.”
She further declared, “I need justice. I want justice. This insult is too much. It is really unfair.”
