“I didn’t know the rice had spoiled” – Lady cries out after serving spoiled food to husband’s Canadian friend
A young married lady has shared an embarrassing experience after unknowingly serving spoiled food to her husband’s visiting friend from Canada.
The woman, who asked to be anonymous, narrated the incident online while seeking advice on whether she should apologise and try to fix the situation.
Husband Invited Friend from Canada
According to her, her husband informed her that his best friend would be visiting Nigeria for an event in Abuja and planned to stay in their house for two days.
She explained that her husband gave her money to prepare a good meal for the visitor.
However, she admitted that she kept the money instead of using it for cooking because she had previously requested money from her husband and he said he did not have any.
I Serve Leftover Fried Rice
The woman revealed she had prepared fried rice about two nights earlier and stored it in the freezer.
She only added half a kilo of fresh meat, prepared it, and reheated the rice before serving the guest.
Unfortunately, she later realised the rice had spoiled.
Guest Reacts After Tasting Food
Upon serving the food to the guest, the visitor tasted it once and immediately stopped eating.
Her husband also tasted it and reacted the same way and confronted her in front of the guest.
After the incident, the visitor reportedly requested to stay in a nearby hotel instead of remaining in their home.
Husband Discloses Hidden Visa Processing Assistance
She revealed that her husband later disclosed that the same friend had been helping them process plans to relocate to Canada through school.
The revelation left her shocked because she claimed she had not been aware.
Narrating the incident, she wrote:
“Please Post n hide my ID. I would like to ask the house about something that happened on Tuesday. My husband told me his best friend is coming to Nigeria from Canada for an event here in Abuja and he wanted him to stay in our house for two days. I agreed. He gave me money to cook something palatable for them to eat, but I took the money and kept it because I had previously asked him money he said he dent have. I had fried rice that i made like just two nights ago in the fridge I brought out. The only thing I bought was fresh meat half kilo. I cooked the meat fried and pepper it brought the fried rice from the freezer and microwaved it when he arrived i served him hot hot I had no idea that the rice was a bit slimy that it had already spoiled. I didn’t know the guy tested once and couldn’t go any further infact he spat out the one he already chewed. and my husband was like what happened so he told him that the food is drawing. Hubby tasted it and spat out too instead of covering for his wife he threw me under the bus I came to taste the food and it was slimy truly and right there in front of the guest, he started calling me names and shouting at me that what happened? What where did I get the food? That what did i do with the money for food he gave me imagine all this in front of his friend o. I explain to him that it’s the one I had in the freezer three nights ago that I kept there he started shouting that he give me about 60,000 naira to cook something and i went to dig out old rice. I explain to him that I already had the rice fresh in the freezer just 2 nights ago and i didn’t know that it was already bad so I told him to calm down. I was going to go out and quickly get something for him to eat, but his Friend told me not to worried that he’s fine. Friend that was supposed to stay in our house, but because of the incident, he told my husband that he should take him to a close hotel he would like to stay so that he can eat food and not bother us, which I also thought was fine. Hubby took him to the hotel but when he came back, he was still shouting and arguing with me that what I did was deliberate why would I intentionally do that he even said mind you this same guy is helping us process visa for Canada true school I shouted because he didn’t tell me. He said i chased my helper because of my greed but ma i didn’t know they had plans and what happened can happen to anybody. Should i call the friend to apologize after what hubby told me? Should i cook and take there to redeem the situation and how he see me”
