“I cheated on my wife, but my mother…” — Man laments after mother does the unexpected

A married man has shared his emotional struggle after his mother reportedly moved into his home following a cheating incident that shook his marriage.

The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, admitted he was unfaithful to his wife and expressed deep regret over his actions.

However, he said the situation has taken an unexpected turn since his wife informed his mother about the incident.

According to him, his mother arrived at their home the same day the issue was reported and has remained there for over a month.

Mother’s Unusual Punishment

In his account, the man said his mother instructed his wife to stop washing his clothes or cooking for him.

She reportedly told her daughter-in-law to focus only on herself so her son would “learn the importance of what is called a woman.”

He explained that despite providing money for food, his mother does not allow him to eat meals prepared in the house. Instead, he has been asked to fend for himself.

He also claimed that his mother prevents his wife from cleaning his room or assisting him in any way. On several occasions, she allegedly insisted that he wash his own clothes and handle his chores alone.

The man further revealed that his mother has stopped him from sharing the same room with his wife, saying he must first understand the weight of his actions.

Regret and Strained Marriage

While admitting his wrongdoing, the man said he has apologised to his wife and promised never to repeat the mistake. He maintained that he genuinely regrets cheating and wants to rebuild his marriage.

However, he claimed his mother believes he should only seek forgiveness after fully “feeling the pain” of his misconduct. He said her continued presence in the house has made reconciliation more difficult.

“I need my wife,” he reportedly said, adding that he feels emotionally drained and isolated in his own home.

Family Intervention Fails

The man disclosed that he contacted his father, asking him to persuade his mother to return home. According to him, his father advised that she should remain for a while longer.

He expressed confusion over his mother’s actions, stating that although he understands her disappointment, he feels the punishment has gone too far.

The situation has since sparked conversations online about marital boundaries, parental interference, and the proper way to resolve family disputes.
