“I can’t be a baby mama for Wizkid, Dangote” – Lady declares

A Nigerian lady has sparked widespread reactions online after speaking out against what she described as the growing baby mama culture in the country.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @it_Ruth, she warned that many women end up in painful and unstable situations by having children for men they are not married to, stressing that marriage should come before motherhood.
In her words, she said:
“Nigerian girls, we have to put an end to this baby mama madness. If a man is not your husband, please don’t get pregnant for him.”
She explained that wealth, fame, or empty promises should never pressure a woman into having a child outside marriage.
The lady further stated that even if Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, or award-winning singer Wizkid wanted to be her baby daddy, she would still say no.
According to her, many men are comfortable having children but are often unwilling to commit to marriage afterward.
“Men will not want to marry a baby mama. Most Nigerian men do not want to end up marrying a baby mama. No ring, no baby. If you’re not his wife, don’t have a child for him,” she added.
Her statement sharply divided opinions online, while many agreed with her stance and praised her for speaking boldly, others argued that marriage does not always guarantee stability, commitment, or happiness.
