“I can not be living…” — Man explains why he doesn’t like marriage
A man has stirred widespread reactions on social media after explaining why he is not enthusiastic about the idea of marriage, saying he does not want to share the same living space with a woman every day.
In a video that has gone viral, the man said one of his biggest concerns about marriage is the expectation of living with a spouse on a daily basis.
According to him, constantly sharing the same space with a partner would eventually become boring and emotionally exhausting.
“Honestly speaking, one of the reasons why I do not like the idea of marriage is the fact that I cannot be living with a woman every single day.
I cannot be living with my partner every single day. Like, it gets boring, it gets tiring to be sharing the same space with your partner every day, every day,” he said.
The man explained that he values personal space and enjoys spending time alone.
He added that he would prefer a relationship where both partners occasionally spend time apart, believing that distance can strengthen affection by allowing couples to miss each other.
“I want my alone time. Sometimes I just want to spend time with myself alone. I want those moments where me and my partner, we are apart from each other and we are missing each other,” he stated.
Despite his views, he stressed that he was not discouraging others from getting married or criticizing the institution of marriage.
Instead, he said he was simply expressing his personal preference and hoped to find a partner who shares the same outlook.
He noted that if he eventually decides to marry, he would only choose a woman who is comfortable with giving each other enough personal space rather than spending every day together.
The only exception, he said, would be during pregnancy, when he believes both partners should remain together to support one another throughout the experience.
“See, the only time where I do not have an issue with spending the whole day with the woman in my life or my partner is when we are bringing a life into this life that we are living in. Like, I mean, when she is pregnant, no issues. I would like to be with her during this period because we both orchestrated it,” he said.
He concluded by reiterating that, outside of pregnancy, he would rather maintain his privacy and independence while allowing room for both partners to miss each other.
