“I bought her iPhone 8, they gave her iPhone 17” – Speed Darlington laments over girlfriend’s betrayal
Controversial singer Speed Darlington has lamented his relationship struggles, revealing how he lost his girlfriend after other men allegedly began showering her with expensive gifts.
In a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), he said he had already made his intention to marry the lady clear and even bought her an iPhone 8 last year, but things took a different turn after he posted her online.
“Is that how I will get married? This was my girlfriend. I had already made my intention known to her that I would marry her. I bought her an iPhone 8 last year, but just because I posted her picture online, some men went after her and bought her an iPhone 17 Pro Max,” he said.
He further explained that the lady stopped communicating with him after receiving the new gifts, leaving him confused and hurt over the sudden change in her attitude.
Speed Darlington added that things took another twist when he recently tried to see her again, only to be met with an unexpected demand.
“Now she no longer talks to me. Recently, I invited her to come see me, and she charged me ₦100,000,” he added.
Some Nigerians found the situation amusing and shared their reactions online.
