A heated family dispute in a Nigerian community has gone viral online after a mother accused her sister-in-law of physically assaulting her over a disagreement about the children’s haircuts.
The incident, captured in a video posted on X, shows neighbors and family members involved in a tense confrontation.
Alleged assault over children’s hair
The mother, speaking to the camera, described how the conflict began shortly after she noticed the children’s hair had been cut without her consent.
“Because we asked her why she cut the kids’ hair under one week we left the children with her, she pushed me down even her neighbor is supporting her,” she said, adding that she felt shocked and hurt by the physical attack.
She emphasised her frustration over the lack of respect for parental boundaries.
“She pushed me down! I can’t believe she would do this in front of everyone. I trusted her to look after my children, and this is how she treats me,” the mother added.
Family and neighbors intervene
According to witnesses in the video, the altercation drew immediate attention from family members and neighbors.
A man attempting to mediate the dispute urged calm, highlighting the sensitive nature of family conflicts.
“Calm down, na family matter,” he reportedly said, as others tried to separate the women.
The sister-in-law defended her actions, insisting she had no wrongdoing, though tensions remained high.
