‎A young Nigerian lady has gone viral on the microblogging platform, X (formerly Twitter) after ending her friendship over an incident involving a man drinking pure water.

‎The lady, @AdageorgeA on X, shared the incident occured during an outing with her friend.

‎In her lengthy tweet that has garnered over 70,000 views, the lady shared that the guy, who was neatly dressed, attempted to talk to her ex-friend.

‎However, she cut him off and informed him that they were busy.

After the incident, she asked her friend the reason behind her actions, and she admitted it stemmed from him holding pure water.

According to @AdageorgeA, her friend’s comment made her realize she assigned human value to insignificant things, marking the end of their friendship.

‎A friend and I went out one day and a guy approached us. He was neat, well dressed, calm just holding a sachet of pure water. He politely tried to talk to her, but she cut him off and said we were busy.

‎After he left, I asked why she did that. She said, “Didn’t you see he was holding pure water?”I looked at her and asked, “Does your father not drink pure water?

‎That moment changed everything. Not because of the man. But because I realized I was standing beside someone who measured human value with nonsense. A sachet of water became a social class test. Respect became conditional and I couldn’t unsee it.

‎That was the beginning of the end of our friendship.
