“I am not responsible for her pregnancy” – Actor accused of impregnating late Aunty Ajara speaks out, shares what happened
Nollywood actor Femi Adewole, popularly known as Femi Apefe, has responded to allegations linking him to the untimely death of his colleague Aunty Ajara.
The petite actress passed away following pregnancy complications and a battle with liver-related health issues. Before her death, several colleagues had taken to social media to seek financial and medical assistance for her as her condition worsened.
A video showing her final moments later surfaced online, prompting many people to post prayer videos and messages of support.
However, after reports emerged that the actress had been pregnant, old videos of Apefe and Aunty Ajara began circulating online, with some social media users accusing the actor of being responsible for the pregnancy.
In response to the claims, Apefe shared a video on his official Instagram page addressing the allegations and explaining the nature of their relationship before her passing.
Femi Apefe on His Relationship With Aunty Ajara
According to Apefe, he first met the actress about two years ago and quickly noticed her natural acting ability. He said he admired her talent and frequently invited her to join him on movie sets for filming.
The actor added that they developed a friendly relationship, noting that Aunty Ajara was familiar with his home and would sometimes visit with the help of a commercial motorcyclist who brought her there.
Actor Speaks on Pregnancy Rumours
Apefe explained that at one point he suggested creating a comedy skit in which Aunty Ajara would act as a pregnant woman. The idea, he said, was embraced by people around them and the skit was eventually filmed at his house.
According to him, that particular video later became the source of rumours that the actress was pregnant with twins in real life.
He firmly denied being responsible for any pregnancy, insisting that the only pregnancy he knew about was the one portrayed in the skit and that he was unaware of any real-life pregnancy.
His Support for the Late Actress
The actor also revealed that Aunty Ajara sometimes struggled with feelings of insecurity because of her body size. Despite that, he said he deeply admired her acting talent and always encouraged her to keep pursuing her career.
Apefe maintained that he was one of her biggest supporters and expressed sadness over her passing while distancing himself from the allegations circulating online.
