“I am absolutely heartbroken”: Single mother accuses teacher of stealing her child’s lunch

A heartbreaking allegation made by a single mother against a primary school teacher has sparked widespread outrage and concern after she shared her experience on X, formerly Twitter.

The woman, who described herself as a single mother of three, said she works tirelessly every day to provide for her children through her small tomato business.

Despite her struggles, she said she ensures her children are well fed, healthy, and properly cared for.

“I am absolutely heartbroken and beyond angry right now,” she wrote. “Imagine working yourself to the bone as a single mom of three, just for a shameless teacher to sit back and eat your child’s lunch every single day.”

“I Am Doing This All On My Own”

In her emotional post, the mother explained that she receives no help or support from her children’s father and depends solely on her daily earnings to survive.

“I am doing this all on my own, no help, no support from their father, just me and my tomato business,” she said.

She added that she works hard and sweats under the sun daily to give her children a better life and keep them healthy.

“But while I’m out here struggling, someone else is busy reaping where she didn’t sow,” she lamented.

Child’s Weight Loss Raises Suspicion

The mother said her youngest child attends a school where fees were fully paid, stressing that she owed the school nothing.

“This is my youngest child. Her school fees are paid in full; I don’t owe that school a single kobo,” she stated.

According to her, she packs her child’s school bag every morning with enough food to last through lunch.

However, she began to notice worrying changes.

“For two months, I noticed she was losing weight,” she wrote.

Concerned, she said she started asking questions and quietly observing until she uncovered what she described as a disturbing truth.

“Her Teacher Has Been Finishing Her Food”

After her investigation, the mother claimed the child’s teacher was eating the food meant for her daughter.

“I found out the truth: her teacher has been finishing her food,” she alleged.

She went further to suggest that her child might not be the only victim.

“I’m almost certain she’s doing this to other kids, too,” she added.

Alleged Method Used by the Teacher

The mother described how the alleged act was carried out.

“She tells the children to bring their bags to her so she can ‘keep them safe,’” she explained.

Instead of safeguarding the bags, the mother claimed the teacher secretly went through them.

“She goes behind their backs to steal and eat their meals,” she said.

School’s Response Sparks More Anger

The situation reportedly worsened when the mother approached the school authorities to lodge a complaint.

“When I went to the school to report this, the administration was just plain rude to me,” she wrote.

She expressed deep frustration, saying her child was suffering while the teacher benefited.

“I cannot be sweating in the sun to feed my child while this lady is getting fat and fresh off my daughter’s lunch while my baby loses weight,” she said.

Strong Words for the Teacher and School

In her post, the mother directly addressed the teacher, whom she identified as Madam Lucia.

“A word of advice for Madam Lucia: please, eat very well at your own house before coming to work,” she wrote.

“Stop the habit of eating your pupils’ lunch,” she added. She also issued a warning to the school management.

“And to the school administration, I’m not trying to expose you yet, but I urge you to take this seriously and fix this issue immediately,” she said.

She demanded decisive action, including dismissal. “I do not want her to be in that school again as a teacher,” she concluded.
