“How many men will do surgery for you?” – Lady questions women over BBL trends
A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after sharing her opinion on the growing popularity of cosmetic surgery among women, particularly Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBL).
She was seen in a video shared by @asakgrn on X (formerly Twitter), where she gave a detailed breakdown of the social pressures behind the trend.
“My Body, My Choice… But Why BBL?”
In the video, she questioned the popular phrase often used in discussions about cosmetic enhancement.
She said: “A girl will say, my body, my choice, and then she will proceed to go get a BBL. But if she now dies in the process, every other person will be like, men are the cause of BBL. How? It’s not even as if I care about the men, trust me, I really don’t. But let me make it clear, because I don’t want we women to be sounding like chickens when we speak. I want we women to sound like what we want to be portrayed as, okay?”
Linking Beauty Standards to Male Preference
The lady went on to argue that many women undergo the procedure to fit into what they believe men find attractive.
“Men like women with big ynash. Black men, most especially, like women with big ynash. BBL is a procedure that a lot of people use in getting a big ynash. So a lot of women now want to fit into the kind of category of women that men like, so they go and get this procedure to be able to fit.”
She added that choosing surgery to meet such expectations should not automatically place blame on men.
“It does not directly mean men are the cause of BBL, because if you have a natural big ynash, you probably fit into that category. But you decided to fit into that category by getting one.”
Comparison With Men
She also questioned whether men would go to similar lengths to meet women’s preferences.
“Have you asked yourself, how many men will go and get a prick enlargement to fit into your criteria? Because as we have it, a lot of women like men with, you know, big prick, right? But how many men will go through surgery to go and get a big prick to impress you? How many? How many? See now? That is the problem.”
