“How can you accuse me of cheating for…” Angry lady blasts boyfriend for checking her phone

A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after calling out her boyfriend for going through her phone and accusing her of cheating.
In a heated rant shared on X (formerly Twitter), she questioned his right to invade her privacy, insisting that their relationship does not give him access to her personal messages.
In her words, she said:
“You’re not even married to me, so tell me why you’ll be checking my phone. I cannot drop my phone here for one second. Even if you buy the phone for me, you still don’t have the right to check it.”
She further defended herself against the cheating allegations, explaining that her conversations with other people, including those outside the country, do not amount to betrayal.
According to her, the people she chats with support her financially in ways her boyfriend does not, making his accusations unfair.
“Now you see my chats with people outside Nigeria, you’re calling me a cheat. How did I cheat? I’m texting them and they are giving me money that you cannot even give me,” she added.
The statement has sparked mixed reactions online, with some people supporting her stance on privacy, while others criticised her, saying financial benefits from other men still means cheating.
One user wrote, “Privacy is important, but this one get layers oo 🤔” Another added, “If you have nothing to hide, why the tension?”
