Hojlund nears Manchester United exit as Napoli agree loan with £39m clause

Rasmus Hojlund is on the verge of leaving Manchester United, with Napoli prepared to take him on loan and include a £39m mandatory purchase option, according to reports in Italy.

The 22-year-old Dane has struggled to fully establish himself at Old Trafford, scoring 26 goals in 95 appearances since his £72m move from Atalanta.

With United strengthening their attack this summer by bringing in Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha, the club is now willing to cash in on Hojlund.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Napoli are open to a season-long loan that becomes permanent if certain conditions are met, including appearances, goals, and Champions League qualification.

Should the deal materialise, United would incur a £33m loss on the striker.

Hojlund has yet to feature for United this season as his future remains unresolved.

His potential move has been encouraged by ex-teammate Scott McTominay, who recently joined Napoli and is believed to have spoken to him about the project under Antonio Conte.

Napoli are in urgent need of attacking reinforcements after Romelu Lukaku was sidelined with a thigh injury, leaving the Serie A champions short of options up front.
