“Him use jazz make this request, nothing anybody wan tell me” — Netizens react as man shares unusual request he received
A Nigerian man has stirred widespread reactions online after he shared an unusual direct message DM he received from a Facebook user requesting a large, interest-free loan.
The man, identified as Brian, posted a screenshot of the message on his page and expressed disbelief at the request. While sharing the image, he wrote, “Some of you really need to go outside and touch grass.”
Loan Request That Shocked Social Media
In the message sent to Brian, the sender appealed for financial help on behalf of their family, asking for a ₦4 million loan with no interest and a one-year repayment period.
The request read: “Good day sir, my family is in need of a loan of 4million with no interest, to pay back in a year time. It’s needed to push my elder’s sister career.
“She is a medical doctor. She has been the bread winner even before we lost our dad. She has made payments for the exams already.
“This money is needed to process her visa, accommodation and everything else for the physical exam she has in the UK.
“She really needs this to earn more to help the family, we all are still trying our possible best. We will be really grateful if this request is done. Thank you sir.”
Brian’s Response to the Message
Brian did not hide his frustration and responded sharply to the request, questioning both the amount and the approach.
His reply read: “What is this?
4 Million Naira loan with no interest
And payment in a year
You dey kill me
If I give ₦1m each to 4 struggling families, it would even have more impact
Please get a collateral and go to the bank and they will give you a loan.
These are not the sort of things that will attract public support.
There are people literally looking for food to eat.”
Public Reactions Trail the Post
The post quickly gained attention, with many social media users sharing strong opinions about the request and the growing culture of online begging.
Emmanuel wrote: “This is how some people wants to get funding to travel abroad… Una go dey enter dm dey find 30m to travel abroad. You think say the person wey you dey ask for never travel if they get the money.”

The incident has reignited conversations about entitlement, financial pressure, and the growing trend of unsolicited funding requests on social media platforms.
