“He zoomed off…” – Lady narrates encounter with a stranger who rejected her after spotting her iPhone X
A Nigerian lady has left many people both shocked and laughing after sharing a bizarre encounter she had with a man while out for a walk.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @AsakyGRN, she explained that a fine-looking guy approached her and asked if she was going his way.
She politely declined, saying she wanted to continue walking. The man then admitted he liked her and wanted to meet again, to which she agreed.
In her words, she said:
“He was like, let me quickly give you my number so you can go on with your walk. But before I could finish, the man saw my phone — my iPhone X — paused, and asked if it was my only phone. When he confirmed it was, he simply said, ‘Never mind,’ and zoomed off.”
The encounter left her stunned, frozen on the spot for about three minutes as she tried to process what had just happened.
“Since I entered this my broke girl era, I’ve had a lot of experiences, but this one hits differently. I’m still looking for the words to explain how I feel,” she added.
The story has gone viral online, some joked about people being shallow, while others sympathized with the confusion and embarrassment she experienced.
