‘He will destroy defenders’ – Arteta warns rival fans about Gyokeres

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has warned Premier League rivals that new signing Viktor Gyokeres will cause serious problems for defenders this season.

The Swedish striker, who joined the Gunners this summer, netted his first goal for the club in a 3-0 pre-season win over Athletic Club.

Arteta praised the forward’s instincts and physicality, describing him as a player capable of creating and finishing chances in any situation.

“He pins both centre-backs, and the moment you leave him space one-on-one, he is going to destroy you,” Arteta said. “He’s going to create a lot of space for us and can score in any moment.”

The Arsenal boss also highlighted the importance of Gyokeres’ debut goal, adding that the team is building strong connections with new arrivals ahead of the new season.

Kai Havertz also found the net in the victory.
