“He was led out…” – Pastor receives standing ovation after publicly addressing daughter’s pregnancy

A social media user, Adasu_d_gr8, has shared an emotional account of a church service that left many congregants moved.

According to the post, during announcements, the pastor became visibly emotional and broke down in tears before revealing that his 19-year-old daughter is pregnant outside of marriage.

Pastor confesses considering abortion

He reportedly admitted that the pressure and fear of public shame had made the temptation to consider abortion overwhelming.

However, he said he chose to announce the situation publicly as a declaration that the family would not take that path, describing it as a way to “shame the devil.” Overcome with emotion, he was eventually led out of the sanctuary by other ministers.

Congregants express support

Contrary to expectations of gossip or judgment, the congregation reportedly responded with a standing ovation in support of the pastor and his family.

“Today in Church, during the announcement, the pastor started crying.

After about five minutes, he broke the news. His 19 years old daughter is pregnant—out of wedlock.

He said the temptation to abort the baby to avoid public shame was becoming overwhelming, so he’s announcing it to shame the devil that they won’t do that.

And then he started crying again. Other ministers needed to lead him out.

I thought there’ll be backbiting and side talk but he was led out with a standing ovation.

I felt so happy that the Church is regaining the love that was once in our midst again.”
