“He should be voted out” – Woman laments ₦35m agric sector loss under Tinubu, blames government policies

A Northern Nigerian woman has opened up about the financial losses she allegedly suffered in the agricultural sector since President Bola Tinubu assumed office in 2023.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she explained that rising production costs, crashing grain prices and insecurity affecting farmers contributed to the loss of her savings, which she estimated at about ₦35 million.

According to her, the financial setback is one of the reasons she strongly believes Tinubu should be voted out at the 2027 presidential election.

In her words, she said:

“When I say Tinubu must be voted out, many don’t understand my pain and anger. I lost about ₦35 million and my life savings in the agric sector when Tinubu became President.

The cost of production tripled, and then, because of Tinubu’s policies like allowing the importation of grains into Nigeria, the prices of grains we struggled so hard to produce crashed, and we couldn’t sell.”

She further blamed insecurity and kidnapping in farming communities for worsening the situation, claiming that farmers were forced to stay away from their farms.

Then the high level of insecurity and kidnapping made us stay away from our farms. I lost millions. And since 2023 till date, it’s been loss upon loss,” she added.

The woman’s comments have generated discussions about the challenges facing farmers amid rising production costs, insecurity and fluctuations in agricultural commodity prices.

While she attributed her losses to policies introduced under the Tinubu administration, her claims represent her personal account of the financial difficulties she has faced since 2023.
