“He said he needed a job to feed his family, then blocked me after I sent N5k” – Farmer cries out

A Nigerian farmer has cried out online after a man who allegedly begged him for a job reportedly blocked her after receiving ₦5,000 meant for transport.

In a post shared on social media, the farmer narrated how the man had repeatedly pleaded for employment, claiming he needed to provide for his wife and children.

Farmer offers man a job

According to the farmer, the man told her he did not know how to drive a car or ride a motorcycle but was desperate for work.

Moved by his story, the farmer said he eventually offered him a job with a monthly salary of ₦70,000, along with free feeding and accommodation.

She also asked the man to send his National Identification Number (NIN) and resume before resuming work.

The farmer wrote:

“One man chatted me last week begging me that he needed a job to take care of his children and wife. He said he doesn’t know how to drive a car or a bike but he needed the job badly.”

Man allegedly blocks farmer after receiving ₦5,000

The farmer said the man was scheduled to resume work on Saturday but later informed him that he did not have transport fare.

Taking pity on him, the farmer said she sent ₦5,000 and also asked him to help purchase a few items on his way to the farm.

However, she alleged that the man blocked him immediately after receiving the money.

She said:

“He told me he was looking for transport money. I took pity on him and sent him ₦5,000 so that he could pick some items for me on his way to my place.

“The werey blocked me immediately he received the money and deleted his NIN, not knowing that I had already saved it.”
