“He grabbed my spoon…” – Lady calls out man who refused to order, ate her food, and left her to pay
A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after sharing her bizarre experience with a man she recently met, who reportedly ate at a restaurant with her and vanished without paying the bill.
Meeting Arrangement
According to her post, she met the man last Sunday, and two days later he invited her to his house.
She suggested meeting at a restaurant instead, but he initially refused. After some discussion, he agreed to meet her at a restaurant the following Saturday.
The Restaurant Incident
When they arrived, the lady shared that the man refused to order food. After several attempts by the waitress, she went ahead and ordered her meal.
Minutes later, he started eating from her plate while she was drinking water. When she suggested ordering another plate for him, he refused.
Despite claiming he was not hungry, he continued eating from her plate and eventually finished it before the second plate she had ordered arrived.
The Disappearance
Shortly after, the man reportedly excused himself to use the restroom, placing his phone to his ear as if making a call, and then disappeared without paying. The lady ended up paying for both meals herself.
Aftermath
He reportedly called the following day around 5 p.m., asking her to meet at a guesthouse with friends to apologise.
In her words:
“I met a guy last week Sunday. Two days later, he invited me to his house, but I told him I wouldn’t be coming. We could meet at a restaurant instead, but he said he wasn’t comfortable with my idea. I also said I couldn’t come with a friend, and he insisted he doesn’t like people he doesn’t know coming to his house. After so much talk, he finally agreed we meet at a restaurant on Saturday.
So yesterday evening, we met at a restaurant. After talking for a long time without ordering anything, the waitresses kept coming and going. It already looked like he didn’t want to order. On the third visit, I ordered my food. I asked if he wasn’t eating; he said he wasn’t hungry. Minutes later, my food arrived. Immediately, he asked the waitress the price and said ‘alright.’ While I was eating, he demanded to eat from my plate. I refused and suggested ordering another plate for him, but he said no. Just when I dropped my spoon to drink water, he grabbed my spoon and started eating.
I decided to let him continue with my food and ordered another plate, but he refused, saying he just wanted to taste it, even though he looked hungry. Before the second plate arrived, he had already finished the first. Soon, he said he wanted to urinate while placing the phone to his ear as if making a call. From that moment, we never saw him again. He disappeared without paying the bill. I had to use my ATM card to clear the bill and leave.
He didn’t call until Sunday around 5 p.m., asking me to meet him at a guesthouse to apologise with his friends. I just told him, ‘Let thunder from your great-great-grandfather’s village fire you 1000 times.’ I ended the call and blocked him.”
