“He gave me a heavy tap” – Steve Chuks recounts awkward encounter with fan’s insecure husband at Lagos party
Popular skit maker and content creator Steve Chuks has recounted an awkward encounter with a fan’s husband at a Lagos all-white party, describing the incident as embarrassing.
Taking to his Instagram page, Chuks explained that he was at the event over the weekend when a woman who knew him from his craft approached him excitedly and called his name. He reached out for a hug because she was a follower who supported his work.

“As I’m giving her a hug, someone taps me at the back, with the most heavy tap. And I turn to him, I’m like, ‘Hello, excuse me?’ He’s like, ‘I said leave here,’” he said.
He said he was confused by the man’s reaction until one of his friends informed him that he was the woman’s husband.
According to Steve, the woman did not explain to her husband that she knew him from social media.
“I’m looking at the woman like, at what point are you going to tell this man that, ‘Oh sorry honey, it’s someone I know on social media. Someone I love and watch on social media.’ She didn’t say anything,” he added.
Steve Chuks revealed that he almost reacted in a way that could have ruined the night but restrained himself. He added that he felt embarrassed and also pitied the woman over the situation.
Reacting to the incident, he questioned why a man in his late 50s would be uncomfortable with his wife hugging someone she knows.
He urged women who know their partners may react similarly to avoid approaching him for hugs at public events, adding that they could simply greet him instead.
