“He built his own casket and destroyed himself” — US-based woman reveals how her husband vanished
A woman has responded to allegations that she reported her husband to U.S. immigration authorities, insisting that the claims are false and that he was responsible for the collapse of his own “American dream.”
Speaking in a viral video circulating on social media, the woman said many people had labelled her a “wicked woman” for allegedly reporting her husband, identified as Jude, to immigration.
However, she denied the accusation and shared what she described as the events that led to the breakdown of their marriage.
She says Jude ruined his own future
According to her, many critics advised her not to discuss her family issues publicly, but she said she decided to speak because remaining silent would only worsen her emotional pain.
“People are calling me a wicked woman. Why? Because I reported my husband to immigration. They said I blocked my husband’s destiny and reported him to immigration.”
She continued: “And people will say, don’t speak. Don’t bring your family issues to social media. No, I will speak. Because if I keep quiet, my heart will burst open.”
The woman firmly denied reporting her husband to immigration.
“Now, let’s be clear. I did not report Jude to immigration. Jude used his own hands to build the casket of his American dream. Climbed inside and shut the lid with his own hands. He destroyed himself.”
How they met and fell in love
She explained that she met Jude five years earlier in Enugu while visiting Nigeria from the United States, where she had been working as a certified nursing assistant.
According to her, she spent years working double shifts, enduring swollen feet and persistent back pain, hoping to build a better future.
“I met Jude five years ago in Enugu while I was visiting from the United States of America. I have spent years in this United States working double shifts day and night as a certified nursing assistant.”
She added: “My feet was always swollen. Should I talk about the backache that comes with it? My back was always aching.”
She said she met Jude during a large church programme and believed God had answered her prayers.
“He was so humble. A brother in Christ and always praying. He would literally carry my handbag for me every time.”
She says she sacrificed everything for him
The woman said they maintained a long-distance relationship for four years, during which she regularly sent him money from the United States.
She claimed that when his visa process became difficult, she made a painful sacrifice by selling the only piece of land her late father left her.
“Every dollar I made from cleaning elderly people’s nyash in America, I sent them to Jude.”
She continued: “And when his visa processing got tough, I did the unthinkable. I sold the only piece of land my father left for me in the village.”
According to her, relatives criticised the decision, but she remained convinced she was investing in their future together.
“All my kinsmen called me a fool for that. But guess what? I told them he is my husband and our future is worth it.”
She claims his attitude changed after arriving in America
The woman recalled becoming emotional when Jude finally arrived at New York’s JFK International Airport, believing their years of hardship had finally ended.
“And the day Jude finally landed in JFK International Airport, I cried until my makeup washed off. I thought our suffering had ended.”
She alleged that he behaved lovingly during his first three weeks in the United States but changed dramatically by the second month.
“For the first three weeks he got to America, he was a darling.”
She added: “And by the second month, the Japa spirit had entered into his head. He stopped eating my food. He started coming home at 2 a.m. smelling of cheap perfume from cheap women.”
She further claimed that he began buying expensive clothes despite her limited earnings.
“He started buying expensive clothes that my CNA pay cheque could barely afford.”
She recounts painful confrontation
The woman said she eventually confronted Jude over his behaviour, but alleged that he insulted her appearance instead of addressing her concerns.
According to her, he told her: “Ada, just take a look at yourself in the mirror. You look like a repackaged grandmother. I didn’t travel all the way from Nigeria to America to spend the rest of my life with a feeding bottle. This country has opened my eyes.”
She said those remarks deeply hurt her because she had sacrificed everything to help him relocate.
“And that is what Jude looked me in the eyes and told me after I sold the only piece of land my father gave me in the village to bring him to America. This is what he had to tell me. I now look like a repackaged grandmother.”
She says he disappeared the next day
The woman concluded by alleging that the following morning, Jude left their home without notice.
“And you think that was all? No. The next morning, the wardrobe was empty. My husband had vanished.”
She ended the clip by saying: “Jude vanished into thin air.”
