He reportedly obtained a new SIM card and phone before approaching his fiancée online, pretending to be a secret admirer who wanted to send her money for shopping.
Woman refuses secret admirer’s advances
The man said the woman refused to provide her account details when the supposed admirer offered to send her money.
However, he used her OPay number to transfer N300,000 directly to her account and sent her a screenshot of the transaction.
According to the man, she replied, “Thank you, but I never asked you though.”
The alleged admirer then invited her to meet him at a hotel, but she reportedly refused. He subsequently asked her to return the N300,000.
Fiancée keeps money and blocks admirer
The man claimed that the woman refused to refund the money and eventually blocked the supposed admirer.
He further alleged that she never told her fiancé about the incident, despite continuing with their marriage preparations.
The account has sparked discussion about trust, financial boundaries and the ethics of secretly testing a partner before marriage.
While the woman’s perspective is not included in the account, the story has raised questions about whether keeping unsolicited money necessarily indicates greed, particularly after she reportedly rejected the hotel invitation and initially questioned the transfer.
