“Hang out for what?” – Lady calls out men sliding into her DMs with hidden motives

A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after calling out men who slide into women’s DMs under the guise of compliments, only to switch to ‘let’s hang out.’
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @ChukEricE, she revealed how men start with exaggerated compliments and quickly move on to vague invitations.
According to her, men often begin with lines like ‘you’re so fine, you’re so pretty, I’ve never seen a girl like you before,” then ask if she’s single or if they can “hang out.’
In her words, she said:
“Hang out as what? Can I take you on a date, if possible spend some time with you. Spend some time with who, as your what? Your nanny, wife, or girlfriend? Do you even know me before?”
She slammed men who hide their real intentions behind casual messages, saying most are only after one thing. Genuine support or respect is rarely offered.
“You can’t change all this your ‘spend some time with you’ to ‘I love what you do and I support you with this amount.’ No, you won’t do that one. You think I don’t know you want to sleep with me? That’s what you all have to offer, nothing else,” she added.
The post has sparked reactions online, with many women agreeing that men’s advances often carry hidden motives.
Some men, however, argue that not every message has an ulterior motive, creating a heated debate in the comments.

"Some men really need to do better. You see a pretty girl online, next thing, after praising her, they’ll say, 'let’s hang out,' as if spending time together is innocent. We all know what men want. Some even use their eyes on almost n@ked pictures of women online."👀
