Grief as medical student passes away two months to MBBS graduation

Friends and colleagues are mourning the death of Abulu Promise Osagie, who reportedly passed away just two months before completing his MBBS degree.

The late student, born June 24, 1998, died on March 10, 2026, bringing an end to what many described as an 11-year journey in medical school.

A tribute shared online by a colleague, Beyond_thewards, expressed deep sorrow over the loss.

“Rest in God’s perfect bosom dear friend. Two months to getting your MBBS degree, our dearest colleague, brother and friend. You imparted lives, you were fervent in God’s vineyard. Eleven years in medical school ends this way; our hearts are heavy, we’re short of words,” the message read.

Those who knew him described him as kind, dedicated to medicine, and active in Christian fellowship, noting that his passing has left classmates and loved ones devastated.

His death has also elicited an outpouring of condolences online, with many reflecting on the emotional and demanding journey of medical training and how close he was to finally becoming a fully qualified doctor.
