“God turned my ‘tears of fear’ to ‘tears of joy’” – Lady kidnapped days to wedding welcomes first child

A Nigerian lady who was kidnapped a few days before her wedding has welcomed her first child, exactly a year after the terrifying ordeal.
Plangdes Nelson, who was then serving as a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member in Bauchi State, was abducted in September 2025 while staying at her brother-in-law’s residence in Dong community, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Woman Kidnapped Days to Wedding
The incident reportedly occurred at night while family members were preparing to go to bed.
The perpetrators allegedly broke into the compound and abducted Nelson alongside another relative.
The incident happened just days before her wedding, turning what should have been a joyful period into a frightening experience for her and her family.
‘One Year Ago, I Was Kidnapped’
A year after the incident, Nelson, who is a baker, took to Facebook on September 14, 2026, to announce the birth of her first child.
Reflecting on the coincidence of the date, she expressed gratitude to God for turning a painful experience into a joyful one.
“14/09/2025. Exactly one year ago, I was kidnapped. I never imagined that this same date would become one of the happiest days of my life,” she wrote.
‘God Turned My Tears of Fear Into Tears of Joy’
Nelson described the birth of her child as a major testimony after the ordeal she experienced a year earlier.
“One year later, God turned my tears of fear into tears of joy. I gave birth to my precious baby.
“From pain to a beautiful testimony. Only God could write this story.
“The mummy, daddy and the baby are fine.”
Her announcement has attracted congratulatory messages, with social media users celebrating the birth and expressing gratitude alongside her over the positive turn of events.
