Glo promo winners get prizes at Ofala festival

Winners of the various prizes in the special promotion organized as part of the Globacom-sponsored 2022 Ofala festival received their prizes at a ceremony on Sunday, October 23, in Onitsha.

The items were presented to them during the celebration of the Azu Ofala on the second day of the Ofala festival at Ime Obi, the palace of Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Among the lucky subscribers who won prizes, Chuka Augustine Amene was the cynosure of all eyes as he could not contain his joy at winning a Tricycle (Keke). It was his second great gift for the day as his wife delivered a baby girl hours before he was called to come for his prize.

Amene, a civil servant with the Ministry of Justice, Anambra State, said: “My joy knows no bounds as my wife just put to bed this morning. Indeed, my new baby has brought me this blessing (Tricycle). I am grateful to Globacom for this special gift”, he said.

Kelvin Tochukwu, who also went home with a brand new Tricycle, told the audience that the prize was a manifestation of his dream and work as he had been praying for a Keke before the promo was put in place and when he heard of the promo, he took steps to participate in it.

He added that he dreamt a week earlier that he won a Tricycle in the Glo promo. “I believed that dream and proceeded to buy a handset from Glo to qualify for the promo. Out of faith, I told my family and friends that I would win and here I am today,” he stated.

Some other winners went home with brand-new industrial sewing machines and grinding machines.

Christopher Bobby, a businessman who is based in Nnewi; Emmanuel Joseph, who is a construction worker in Onitsha, and Trophy Ibeabuchi, a final year student of Computer Science at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, all went home with sewing machines which they won.
