- Host nations (3): Canada, Mexico, and the United States qualified as soon as they were chosen to host the tournament.
- Asia (8): Eight Asian countries have qualified, and Iraq defeated the UAE to advance to the intercontinental playoffs.
- Africa: The African qualifying divided 54 countries into nine groups of six (however Eritrea withdrew from Group E before play began). The nine group winners have qualified, while Congo advanced from a playoff to the intercontinental playoff.
- Concacaf (3): The region’s third round, consisting of three groups of four, began play in September. Curaçao, Haiti, and Panama advanced directly to the World Cup, while Jamaica and Suriname, the best runners-up, will compete in an intercontinental playoff.
- Europe (16): UEFA qualifying included 54 teams divided into 12 groups. Group winners advanced to the World Cup, while the second-place finishers (together with the top four teams from the UEFA Nations League who did not win their qualifying groups) will compete in a playoff for Europe’s remaining four slots.
