Female US lawmaker slams President Trump, says “Idiots are ruling Americans”

A female lawmaker representing Minnesota’s 5th District, Ilhan Omar has berated President of the United States, Donald Trump and some Republican lawmakers, saying their recent remarks show that the country is ‘being led by idiots.’

It was gathered that Trump accused Omar, who is of Somali descent, of telling him how to run the country in a social media post.

Gistreel.com reports that the US President’s statement is coming, following the death of a popular activist and Trump ally, Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on September 10.

Omar had retweeted a post that some critics interpreted as blaming Kirk for his own death. In response, Republican congresswoman, Nancy Mace introduced a resolution to censure her for allegedly ‘smearing Charlie Kirk, but the measure was narrowly defeated 214–213 on Wednesday.

Speaking during an interview with MSNBC News on Sunday, the female lawmaker mocked Trump’s call for her impeachment, noting his lack of understanding of constitutional processes.

She said: “He’s supposed to be the president of the United States, heading off to Europe to represent us. When he does, he’s educated enough to understand that members of congress can’t be impeached.

“Comments from Trump and his Republican allies expose themselves for how stupid they are, is “embarrassing for us as a country.

“When they’re saying they’re going to deport me knowing fully well that you cannot deport an American citizen, what that displays for not just Americans but folks on an international platform is that our country is being led by idiots, and that is not something that we would be comfortable with. I feel great sadness that these are the kinds of people representing us.”
