“Everyone begs…” – Ghanaian Bolt driver sparks reactions after telling tourist to avoid visiting Nigeria

A Ghanaian Bolt driver has gone viral after sharing his blunt opinion about Nigerians, sparking heated debates online.
In a clip circulating on X (formerly Twitter), the driver claimed Nigerians are quick to ask for money—a comment he made while speaking with a tourist.
He described it as a common habit he has observed among Nigerians.
In his words, he said:
“If you go to Nigeria eeh, the whole people are beggars. They will beg you for money. That’s to tell you how much they beg.”
The comment has since divided social media users. Some criticized him for generalizing an entire nation, pointing out that not all Nigerians behave this way.
Others, however, said his observation reflected experiences they’ve had while visiting or living in Nigeria.
Social media reactions were immediate and relatable.
One user wrote, “This is 100% true in some areas, but you can’t say everyone does it.” Another added, “People are too quick to generalize. Ghanaians are the real beggars.”
The viral clip has reignited conversations online about stereotypes, travel experiences, and how generalizations can spark strong reactions on social media.
