“I kept introducing him to my friends. I was like you want to date me but I can’t date you, but I have a friend you might like. We met at a friend’s introduction, and I didn’t notice him. Later, a random number called me, and that was how we started talking, but I made it clear I wasn’t interested,” she said.
Persistence and familiarity shape outcome
According to the couple, the man remained consistent for several years, eventually winning her over despite her initial reluctance.
She disclosed that he even went as far as offering money to a mutual friend to obtain her contact.
Similar relationship stories centred on persistence have surfaced in recent years, often sparking mixed reactions about boundaries and commitment.
“He was consistent from 2013 to 2019. Even though I said he wasn’t my type, he turned out to be perfect for me. My husband even gave a mutual friend N10k to get my number, and now we’ve been married for five years. As a single person, marry someone you know, from a family you understand,” she added.
