EPL: Raheem Sterling shines as Chelsea secure 4-1 victory over Burnley

Raheem Sterling has helped Chelsea put an end to their seven months back-to-back drought in the Premier League with 4-1 victory over Burnley.

The Blues had a challenging start under Mauricio Pochettino, suffering defeats against West Ham, Nottingham Forest, and Aston Villa.

Their win in the Carabao Cup against Brighton was a relief after going three EPL games without victory. The Blues have since continued their winning streak.

At Turf Moor, Vincent Kompany’s side took the lead with Wilson Odobert finding the corner of the net just 15 minutes into the game.

However, Raheem Sterling created an equalizer with a cross that deflected off Ameen Al-Dakhil, at halftime.

Chelsea showed more energy in the second half, earning a penalty when Sterling was fouled just inside the 18-yard box.

Cole Palmer converted the penalty, securing his first goal for the club. Furthermore, Sterling added to his performance, scoring his third goal of the season in the 65th minute.

Chelsea continued with the energy, with Sterling setting the tone for Cole Palmer’s assist that led substitute Nicolas Jackson to score, sealing a 4-1 victory for the West Londoners.

Meanwhile, the win marks Chelsea’s first back-to-back Premier League victories since March, as well as the first time they have scored four goals in a game since April 2022.
