EPL: Awoniyi scores as Forest deepen Tottenham relegation worries

Tottenham Hotspur slipped closer to the Premier League relegation zone after a damaging 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Goals from Igor Jesus, Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awoniyi lifted Forest out of immediate danger and left Spurs just one point above the bottom three.
Forest seize control
Tottenham started brightly but failed to convert early dominance into goals. Forest capitalised late in the first half when Igor Jesus headed home in stoppage time, giving the visitors a crucial lead.
Spurs came close to responding before the break, with Mathys Tel striking the crossbar, but their inability to take chances proved costly.
Forest extended their advantage in the 62nd minute as Gibbs-White found space in the box to convert Callum Hudson-Odoi’s cutback, with the effort slipping through Guglielmo Vicario.

Pressure mounts on Spurs
Tottenham’s struggles continued as missed opportunities and defensive lapses undermined their performance.
Substitute Lucas Bergvall squandered a chance to reduce the deficit, slicing wide from a promising position.
Forest sealed the result late on when Awoniyi added a third goal, completing a dominant performance and securing their first league win under Vitor Pereira.
The defeat leaves Tottenham without a win in the league since late December, increasing pressure on interim manager Igor Tudor, who has lost five of his seven matches in charge.
With seven games remaining, Spurs face a critical battle to avoid relegation, while Forest’s victory moves them three points clear of the drop zone.
