EPL: Arokodare’s Wolves hold Newcastle to extend unbeaten run to four

Wolverhampton Wanderers continued their recent improvement in the Premier League after holding Newcastle United to a goalless draw, extending their unbeaten run to four matches.
The result denied Newcastle a chance to move into the top five as Eddie Howe’s side struggled to impose themselves against an organised Wolves team.
Despite arriving on the back of three straight league wins, the visitors failed to find rhythm for long periods and were limited in clear-cut chances.
Newcastle miss opportunity
Newcastle dominated possession but lacked penetration, with their first effort on target not arriving until the closing stages.
Big-money forward Nick Woltemade endured another quiet outing and was withdrawn in the second half as his goal drought continued.

A late push from the Magpies almost paid off, but Wolves goalkeeper José Sá produced key saves to deny Bruno Guimarães and Joelinton.
The draw leaves Newcastle eighth in the table, having missed the chance to strengthen their Champions League push.
Wolves show signs of progress
For Wolves, the point reinforced signs of renewed belief under Rob Edwards, even though their relegation situation remains bleak.
Bottom of the table and well adrift of safety, Wolves appear to be focusing on restoring structure and competitiveness.
Teenager Mateus Mané was again lively, forcing Nick Pope into action, while Nigeria international Tolu Arokodare contributed to Wolves’ attacking work rate, helping stretch Newcastle’s back line and relieve pressure during key moments.
Although Wolves remain unlikely to avoid relegation after a winless start to the campaign, their recent performances suggest a platform is being built for the future.
