Emir Sanusi goes back to school, begins lectures as 200-level Law student in Kano

The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has returned to the classroom after enrolling as a 200-level Law student at Northwest University, Kano.
The monarch was seen attending lectures with other undergraduates on Tuesday, marking the start of his academic journey in the university’s Faculty of Law.

Sanusi joined fellow students for classes, dressed in a black flowing outfit paired with a white turban.

His presence drew attention on campus, with many students expressing surprise and admiration at seeing the traditional ruler learning alongside them.
Admitted into Law Programme
The Emir was recently offered special admission into the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme, where he will study Common and Sharia Law.
The university confirmed that he was admitted directly into 200 level.

Reason for Special Admission
According to the institution, the admission was granted in recognition of Sanusi’s vast experience in governance, economics, and public service.
His long career in national and international public affairs was considered relevant to his law studies.
