Dortmund close in on deal for Chukwuemeka

Borussia Dortmund are closing in on deals for Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka and Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte as part of their midfield overhaul ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Per reports from Sky and Fabrizio Romano, Dortmund plan to table a formal bid for Buonanotte shortly, while talks for a loan move involving Chukwuemeka are advancing.

Chelsea are reportedly open to selling the 21-year-old for €25 million, significantly lower than the initial €35-40 million price tag.

Romano claims personal terms with the player have already been agreed.

Dortmund’s summer business has so far been limited to making Yan Couto and Daniel Svensson’s loans permanent, alongside the acquisition of Jobe Bellingham.

The potential double swoop would mark a major boost for Sebastian Kehl’s recruitment agenda.

There are also whispers of Jadon Sancho returning to the club.

Dortmund kick off their season on August 18 against third-division side Essen in the DFB-Pokal. Management are pushing to wrap up transfer business before then.
