“Don’t marry her because she’s homely or can cook” – Man shares billionaire mentor’s marriage advice

A Nigerian man has sparked conversations online after sharing what he described as advice from a billionaire mentor about marriage and choosing a life partner.
According to him, the mentor explained that many young men unknowingly make wrong decisions when choosing a wife, often focusing on the wrong qualities.
“Most young men have already signed a contract with poverty, so they are looking for a co-founder to continue that company,” he said.
He further explained that one of the biggest mistakes men make is choosing a woman based on her ability to cook and clean, stressing that a wife should be seen as a life partner, not a maid.
The man added that his mentor also warned against marrying a woman simply because she is quiet, overly submissive, or always agrees, noting that such traits may limit growth in the long run.
“He said, don’t marry a lady because she can cook and clean. Your wife is your partner, not your maid. Marry for value. Also, don’t marry an ‘oh yes’ person. Marry someone who can challenge you, correct you, and help you grow. And don’t marry for looks alone, marry for vision,” he added.
He also revealed that his mentor shared a personal example, stating that his wife has not stepped into the kitchen for years because they can afford domestic help, emphasizing that marriage should go beyond household duties.
His statement has stirred mixed reactions online, with many debating whether modern relationships should prioritise value and vision over traditional roles.
