“Don’t build with a poor man” — Female pastor advises ladies
A female pastor has stirred reactions online after advising women against building relationships with poor men, claiming that a man’s true character often changes once he becomes financially successful.
The preacher made the remarks during a sermon that has since circulated widely on social media, where she warned women against what she described as the dangers of “suffering and building together” with financially unstable partners.
According to her, many women invest years supporting struggling men, only to be abandoned after the men achieve financial success.
“You cannot know a poor man’s real character until he starts touching money,” she said. “No matter how it is, he will leave you at the end of the day. It’s not fair to build with a poor man, build with a rich man.”
Pastor warns women against “understanding girlfriend” mentality
The pastor criticised women who pride themselves on enduring hardship in relationships, suggesting that excessive patience and sacrifice often leave them heartbroken.
“Go and be doing understanding girlfriend,” she said. “If you finish understanding, your understanding will understand you.”
Her comments drew laughter from some members of the congregation, while others appeared shocked by the blunt delivery.
She further argued that many women focus too much on physical appearance when choosing partners instead of considering deeper qualities such as emotional stability, responsibility, and temperament.
“A lot of ladies don’t even know the kind of man they want,” she stated. “You just want a man who is tall, handsome, with six packs. You don’t know the kind of character he has built.”
