“Did I overreact?” – Wife beats her sister-in-law over Egusi Soup
A Lagos wife has sparked reactions online after sharing a dramatic incident involving her sister-in-law over a pot of soup.
The incident was shared on Facebook by Stanley Ihunanyachi, drawing attention online.
Sister-in-Law Moves In
The mother of three explained that her husband’s younger sister had come to Lagos while searching for a job.
Initially, she tried to be accommodating, but issue began over the way her sister-in-law handled meals.
“If I finished cooking, I dish her food, as well as everyone else in the house. After dishing their food, I inform them. But this my sister-in-law will not carry the food I dished out for her, instead she dish another one. I overlooked it and allowed her to dish food by herself because it is not a big deal to me.”
Pot Soup
The woman revealed that tensions arose when she discovered her egusi soup had gone sour after her sister-in-law served herself from the pot a second time.
“I called my house help and asked if she dished soup after I warmed it, but was told it was my sister-in-law. I went to her room and asked why she went to my pot the second time after warming the soup. She said sorry. I was very angry, but since she apologized, I left her room.”
Verbal Insult Sparks Confrontation
The situation escalated when the sister-in-law insulted her on the phone, prompting the woman to physically confront her.
“She started telling someone on phone that the stupid woman her brother married is disturbing her because of ordinary soup.”
Husband Thinks She Overreacted
While she tried to justify her actions, the woman shared her husband said she overreacted, leaving her questioning her actions.
“My husband said I overreacted. Did I overreact?”
