Deal done between Liverpool, Andoni Iraola

Andoni Iraola is set to become the new head coach of Liverpool FC after reaching a verbal agreement with the Premier League side following the departure of Arne Slot.
The Spaniard has emerged as Liverpool’s preferred candidate and is expected to sign a two-year contract, with an official announcement anticipated later this week.
Liverpool move swiftly after Slot exit
Liverpool have acted quickly in their search for a new manager after dismissing Arne Slot just one year after he guided the club to the Premier League title.
The recruitment process has been overseen by sporting director Richard Hughes, who previously worked closely with Iraola during their time together at AFC Bournemouth.

Iraola wants trusted assistants at Anfield
Iraola is reportedly keen to bring his Bournemouth assistants, Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper, with him to Merseyside as part of his backroom team.
However, Bournemouth are yet to receive any formal communication from either coach regarding their futures, leaving the situation unresolved for now.
Spaniard’s style aligns with Liverpool vision
Liverpool’s hierarchy are believed to have been impressed by Iraola’s front-foot, high-intensity approach, which closely matches the club’s preferred footballing identity.
The 43-year-old built a strong reputation during managerial spells with Rayo Vallecano and Bournemouth, and has consistently favoured short-term contracts throughout his coaching career.
His arrival would mark the beginning of a new era at Anfield as Liverpool look to re-establish themselves among English football’s leading forces.
