His performances earned him a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Year and attracted growing interest from Premier League clubs.

Millwall rejected at least three offers from Brighton before the two clubs finally reached an agreement.

The deal will represent a record sale for Millwall, who signed Azeez from Reading for around £1m in 2024.

Azeez is entering the final two years of his contract and had recently been omitted from Millwall’s last three matchday squads as speculation surrounding his future intensified.

Wrexham had also shown interest in the winger, but Brighton ultimately secured his signature.

Brighton reshape squad

Azeez is expected to become Brighton’s 11th signing of the summer as the club continue to strengthen their squad.

The Seagulls have already completed a club-record £45m deal for Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic and have also generated substantial funds through player sales.

One of their biggest departures was Carlos Baleba, who joined Manchester United for £70m.

Azeez is the second Nigerian to join the Seagulls this summer, following the signing of Zadok Yohanna.
