Cubana highlighted what he described as the extravagant lifestyle of some people from Imo State, using the purchase of an expensive wristwatch as an example.
“We have Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, but it’s we Imo that have more doings and the baddest in Igbo land. See what we have done, premium! Look at how we spent $500K on a watch. An Anambra man will rather use that money to buy land,” he said.
He suggested that people from the different Southeast states have distinct approaches to wealth and spending.
According to him, while Imo people may be more inclined to make extravagant purchases and showcase their wealth, he claimed that Anambra people would be more likely to invest the same amount in property.
His comments have generated conversations online, with social media users sharing different opinions about the lifestyles and spending habits associated with people from the various Southeast states.
Some users found his comparison amusing, while others debated whether such generalisations accurately reflect the financial habits of people from the different states.
The statement has also renewed discussions about the different cultural identities and perceptions surrounding the five states that make up Nigeria’s Southeast region.
