Parker died of cancer in Memphis, Tennessee, on March 5, 2026, at the age of 60. Corey Parker, a Will & Grace veteran and respected acting coach, died after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

He was sixty. Emily Parker, the actor’s aunt, confirmed to TMZ that Corey died of cancer on Thursday, March 5, in Memphis, Tennessee. Corey had previously been diagnosed with advanced Stage 4 metastatic cancer, according to a GoFundMe page set up to help his family.

According to the fundraising page, the actor found the disease after having hip replacement surgery. Throughout 2025, the actor gave several messages on GoFundMe, which were presented as updates by fundraiser organiser Marissa Hoisington.

In one report, Corey stated that while his body initially responded to the treatment, the cancer had gradually progressed. In a November 2025 update, Corey stated that “90%” of his bones were covered in adenocarcinoma, a type of cancer that begins in the glands that line a person’s organs, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Corey continues to make an impact on the acting profession by becoming an acting instructor in 2000. According to the GoFundMe page, his acting students have won Tony, SAG, and Emmy awards.

Who is Corey Parker?

Corey Parker was born in New York City on July 8, 1965. He was the son of actress Rochelle Natalie “Rocky” Parker (1940-2014) and her second husband, John David Haas. Parker began his acting career at the age of four, with television advertisements.

He eventually went to the High School of Performing Arts in New York City. Parker decided to pursue his acting career full-time after graduating from high school. He was a member of both the Actors Studio and the Ensemble Studio Theatre. Parker appeared onstage at the 61st Academy Awards in 1989.

Parker has appeared in several films, including Biloxi Blues, Willy/Milly, White Palace, Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, and How I Got Into College. He has also been on television in programs such as Thirtysomething, Broadway Bound, Blue Skies, Love Boat: The Next Wave, and Flying Blind, which he co-starred in alongside Téa Leoni from 1992 to 1993 on Fox.

He later had a recurring role as Josh on the sitcom Will & Grace. His television films include The Lost Language of Cranes for the BBC, Mr. and Mrs. Loving, Courage with Sophia Loren, A Mother’s Prayer, and Destiny: The Elizabeth Taylor Story.

Parker, an acting coach, has performed as a guest artist at Rhodes College and the University of Memphis. He was the official acting coach for CMT’s Sun Records and also served as a coach for Ms. Marvel. Parker was a guest instructor at HB Studio.
