“Cooking money is not the same thing as taking care of your wife” – Lady says

A viral video has sparked discussions online after a lady cautioned men that simply giving their wives money for basic needs is not equivalent to truly taking care of them.
The video, widely shared on social media, emphasises the importance of attention, grooming, and thoughtful maintenance in sustaining marital satisfaction.
Redefining care in marriage
The speaker argued that financial provision alone does not ensure a wife feels valued or attractive.
She highlighted that neglecting maintenance can impact the wife’s appearance and the couple’s emotional connection.
“Giving your wife cooking money is not the same thing as taking care of your wife. Maybe you know that one, because some men when they go to take care of their woman automatically, automatically will say, ‘Are they providing? Are they providing? You’re hungry!’ Na food be problem for the woman. That’s why your wives never old now—lack of maintenance make her be like a tutu poyoyo,” she said.
She emphasised that proper attention goes beyond meals, encompassing personal grooming and style.
“Give your wife money—better hair, synthetic dey fine fine synthetic dey buy for her. Give her money make she buy clothes. Give her money make she do eyelashes, pedicure. Give her money for cream. Give her money for bag and slippers. Give her money for perfume—make she look good for you, make she smell nice for you,” she added.
Impact of maintenance on relationships
According to the speaker, when a wife is well-maintained, it can rejuvenate marital intimacy and admiration.
“If they give her money, you go toast your wife again because you not gonna recognize her now. So the woman be when you just see am like she never old now—lack of maintenance,” she said.
